Supplemental Weekend Symphony is Free for All Students Currently Enrolled in an Instrumental Music Class with Music House!

These classes will take place on Saturdays at our West Rogers Park location (2925 W. Devon) and on Sundays at our Humboldt Park location (1018 N. California). Scroll to the bottom to see the schedule and register for the appropriate class for your child, so we know you're coming!

What is Weekend Symphony?  Weekend Symphony is an opportunity for students and parents to come together each week to get an extra day of practice, and it's included with your tuition!  This is a FREE additional class that, when taken advantage of, will really help to excel your child's ability (and teach you, the at-home-teacher, how to help support your child at home).  Classes take place at the same time every weekend throughout the school year, except for special event weekends and 3- day weekends.

Why do we offer Free Classes on Weekends? We believe every child is capable of learning an instrument with discipline, love, and consistency.  We want to give you and your child the support you need to be successful!  These classes are intended for parents to attend with their child, so our students can feel the support they need to grow with their instrument.

Here are 5 reasons your student deserves the opportunity to join us this weekend:

  1. It's fun! We try to make our lessons engaging so that learning is a stimulating activity. We have games that encourage practice by incorporating laughter and movement into the lesson so that students associate their instrument and music-making with happiness!
  2. The more that students practice, the more successful they feel, and the happier they feel about playing their instrument. We're creating a cycle of success!
  3. Students want to do what their parents do. When parents observe a lesson, students internalize this subconsciously and make a connection that, because their parents are making an effort to make this lesson a priority, the student begins to subconsciously prioritize the instrument as important.  This is your opportunity to be a major part of their musical learning experience!
  4. We are learning a new language: the language of music! The more we are exposed to this new language, the easier it will be to speak and hear fluently!
  5. Our Weekend Symphony Classes are wonderful ways to build new musical communities! Socializing with our hobbies is a great way to create a sense of belonging. Expose your student to as many musicians as possible so they feel a sense of pride and community with their instrument.  Later on, their identity will be formed by what they do and the way they spend their time, but it will be much easier with a social community!

Again, Weekend Symphony will take place every weekend except for 3-Day weekends and Holidays. Check the calendar on our website to confirm if Weekend Symphony is in session.
