Andrew Scott Young

Andrew Scott Young (he/him/his) has been practicing, performing, and learning about music for over 20 years.  After studying classical and jazz double bass at the University of Missouri and the University of North Texas, Andrew moved to Chicago in 2007 to pursue music performance and education as a full-time career.  Since then he has had the opportunity to perform in the studio and on the stage all around North America and Europe with many different bands and ensembles.  Having also had years of experience teaching in various settings including private lessons, classrooms, and band rehearsals, he has formed an education style centered around helping his students accomplish their own goals and maximize the joy of playing music.  "What do you want to do with your instrument?  That's what I want to teach you!"  He offers lessons for bass, guitar, cello, ukulele, mandolin, and piano.
