Joel Block

Joel Block (he/him) is a professional drummer with over 20 years of performing experience, and a degree in Percussion Performance from Michigan State University. Joel’s variety of performance experiences give him a unique musical toolbox to work from. When he’s not teaching, you can find him working on personal recording projects, biking around Chicago, and studying historical maps of western United States. Students in Joel’s studio can expect positive, thoughtful lessons, where listening, reading, and playing are all equally emphasized. His studio follows the principles that what when you show up on time and play in time, you’ll have a great time!
