Ms. Kathleen (she/her/hers) has been teaching with Music House Inc. since 2014. She is trained in Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Contemporary and Hip Hop. As a teenager she volunteered in the YMCA Youth Intervention program where she was given the opportunity to teach youth. Her passion for teaching was sparked through this program; she saw firsthand how her passion for dance can inspire others. She received her BA in Dance from Columbia College where she had the privilege of performing works by Emma Draves, Stephanie Martinez, and Darrell Grand Moultrie.  Ms. Kathleen was also a part of Joel Hall Dance Company II and performed a piece by Duwane Pendarvis.  Additionally she has performed in dance festivals such as Going Dutch, where she performed a piece by Sophia Perez called “Out of Focus” and in “Room” by Megan Amal at Mess Hall.

Ms. Kathleen has taught throughout the Chicagoland area and suburbs with Red Clay, Design Dance, Music House and Downer Grove Park Dance Academy. Kathleen is a ABT® Certified Teacher, who has successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Pre-Primary through Level 3 of the ABT® National Training Curriculum. She feels that her experience has enriched and solidified her passion for inspiring future artists. Above all Ms. Kathleen believes that dance has the ability to bring people together no matter where they’re from.  Dance can strengthen bonds and build an inclusive diverse community that learns how to communicate and work together.  Dance also helps develop self-confidence which is carried throughout all aspects of life.
