Lo Marie

Lo Marie (she/her) is a visual arts teaching artist. In 2022 she was one of the emerging artists selected to be a part of “Featuring Us”, a program aimed at inspiring the Chicago community across a range of immersive art education and experiences, in partnership with Joe Freshgoods, Community Goods & 1800 Tequila. Since then she continues to show artwork, as well as, lead collage workshops in various spaces throughout the city. 

Lo’s experiences as a child while visiting with grandparents and living on both the west and south sides of the city are what inspired her to actively seek creative expression through mixed media. Her pieces often portray feelings, memories, concerns, and observations of people that reside in low income communities. When teaching , Lo’s goal is to encourage community interaction and nurture her students' ability in utilizing art to articulate their life experiences.
