Megan Pollon

Megan Pollon began playing the violin at the age of 8 in her hometown San Luis Obispo, California. During her high school years, she was concertmaster of the San Luis Obispo Youth Symphony. Additionally, she won a position with the San Luis Obispo Symphony in 2016. In 2017, Megan placed 2nd in the Monday Club Fine Arts Competition and was invited to perform the first movement of the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto with the San Luis Obispo Chamber Orchestra.

Megan received her Bachelor’s in Violin Performance at California State University Long Beach studying undering Henry Gronnier and Moni Simeonov. She also recently graduated from Chicago College of Performing Arts with a Master’s in Violin Performance and Suzuki Pedagogy studying under Almita Vamos and MingHuan Xu. During her time at CCPA she served as concertmaster of the Symphony Orchestra.

Megan has played with many different ensembles and groups including Civic Orchestra of Chicago, American Youth Symphony, the 2022 National Repertory Orchestra, the 2021 National Orchestra Institute, and the 2019 Roundtop Festival Institute.

Megan loves teaching and helping students develop on the violin. She is certified in Suzuki Books 1-8. Megan believes every child can play music. She emphasizes a strong technical foundation, beautiful sound, listening, and diligent practice in order to help her students achieve their goals.
