Paddington Updates!

Dear Dance Families,

Our dance classes have been busy learning their choreography for their roles in our upcoming Spring production, Paddington’s Chicago Adventure! We have scheduled zoom meetings next week to share information and answer any questions you may have. Below you will find information that may be helpful. 

Rehearsal Schedule

A Rehearsal Schedule, organized by student, has been share via email.

Here is a Rehearsal Schedule by Class and Role 

It would be helpful if you would review the rehearsal schedule and let us know at your earliest convenience if your child is unable to attend a rehearsal, will arrive late, or needs to leave early. We understand and it is okay that your child may not be able to attend every rehearsal that is scheduled. But their attendance is much appreciated to help put on a successful production. 

**On the following dates listed below Music House dance classes will be held at ChiArts. It is important to review the rehearsal schedule for the time your child should be in attendance for rehearsal at ChiArts. The scheduled time may be different then their regular dance class time. **

Performance Information

Paddington’s Chicago Adventure will be performed on the stage at Chicago High School for the Arts, (ChiArts), 2714 W Augusta Blvd, Chicago. We will be sharing further details as we get closer. The performance dates are:

  • Saturday, June 1, 2024 

    • All Students will be performing

    • Performance is at 5:30 pm

    • The call time for dancers is 2:00 pm except for the School of Fish call time is 4:00 pm

    • The School of Fish will be dismissed to their parents after Act 1

  • Sunday, June 2, 2024

    • All Students will be performing

    • Performance is at 2:00pm 

    • The call time for dancers is 12:00 PM except for the School of Fish, call time is 12:30 pm

    • The School of Fish will be dismissed to their parents after Act 1

  • Sunday, June 2, 2024 

    • This will be our Female Only Performance along with the main roles

    • Performance is at 6:00 pm

    • The call time for the dancers is 4:00 pm 

    • The performance will be open to only female audience members. 

A note about the female only performance. We continually and actively work towards building an inclusive and safe environment at Music House. We have a vast community of families from many diverse backgrounds at both of our locations. One of our primary goals is to try to ensure that the arts are available to as many families as we can reach as an arts organization. We recognize the strength and the power of an arts education. Having the freedom to perform on a stage is empowering and can make a difference for our children to grow into contributing members of society.  At our West Rogers Park studio we offer classes for female students who culturally cannot perform with men in the audience. De-gendering the arts and supporting Trans/NGC/Non-binary students while simultaneously providing inclusive spaces for Orthodox Jewish, Muslim, and refugee students is a complicated matter that we take seriously. The performance on Sunday at 6:00 PM will be held for our girls only classes, along with the main roles. The performance will be open to only female audience members. 

Purchase Tickets & T-Shirts

You can purchase your tickets to Paddington on our website. Tickets are $15.00 if purchased in advance and will be $20 if purchased on the day of the show. 

Purchase your Paddington’s Chicago Adventure T-shirt on our website, the deadline to place an order is May 22, 2024 for pick up at the performance. The price is $25 per t-shirt

Required Skin Tone Base Layer

We are asking all dancers to come to dress rehearsals and performances with a base layer to make costume changes easier.  The base layer is a skin tone leotard, shorts or plain/solid color T-shirt. You can purchase these items through Music House. You can check in with the front desk to place an order by May 1, 2024. 

Parent Meeting on Zoom

We will have a parent meeting on Tuesday April 16, 2024 at 6:30 pm and Thursday April 18, 2024 at 6:30pm. Please RSVP so you may receive a Zoom link.
